Gabor Gurbacs

Director, Digital Asset Strategy

Gabor Gurbacs joined VanEck in 2014. He serves as Director of Digital Assets Strategy and is responsible for managing VanEck’s digital assets initiatives, including investment, technology and regulatory matters. Mr. Gurbacs has been a pioneer in the digital assets space. He built the first industry standard digital assets indices, and designed and filed the first futures-based bitcoin ETF in the US as well as many other digital asset ETPs in Europe . Mr. Gurbacs has also been leading the digital assets investing and market structure discussions with U.S. and global regulators such as the SEC, CFTC, BaFin and others. Prior to his current role, he was a member of product management team at VanEck. Prior to joining VanEck, Mr. Gurbacs held several finance research positions at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Williams College. Mr. Gurbacs received a BA in Mathematics, German and Sociology from Williams College. Mr. Gurbacs is also the founder and CEO of PointsVille, the popular gamified educational rewards platform serving financial, pension, crypto and sports businesses and associations.
